Laura Berman works with sequence and multiples in non-traditional formats. Currently her work explores installation and interaction in combination with hand printed images. She has created site-specific exhibitions at numerous galleries and museums, including Avenue of the Arts (Kansas City, MO), CBAT Gallery (Cardiff, Wales), Arthur Rogers Gallery (New Orleans, LA), Artspace (Raleigh, NC), Aspen Museum of Art (Aspen, CO), Center for Book Arts (NYC), Dalarnas Museum of the Arts- Falun Printmaking Triennial (Falun, Sweden), Emerge Gallery (Greenville, NC), Grafikens Hus (Mariefred, Sweden), H&R Block Artspace (Kansas City, MO), International Print Center New York (New York, NY), and Telephonebooth (Kansas City, MO). She has been a Visiting Artist and has worked as an artist-in-residence at a number of institutions including Anderson Ranch Art Center (CO), Artspace (NC), Atlantic Center for the Arts (FL), Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop (New York, NY) and Can Serrat International Arts Center (Spain).

Laura Berman directed the 2007 Southern Graphics Council Conference, in which 1200 printmaking artists and enthusiasts from the world over converged in Kansas City, MO to experience precedent-setting print events, numerous and engaging print exhibitions, and diverse dialogs and presentations that examined printmaking’s relationship to other media and environments. From 2004-2007 she was the Head of the Printmaking Program at Kansas City Art Institute, and the Interim Chair of the Printmaking Department from 2007-2008. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Printmaking at the Kansas City Art Institute, where she teaches Sophomore Printmaking, Book Arts, Papermaking and Silkscreen courses. She received her BFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University and her MFA from Tulane University.
