A Human Becomes A Chair (AHBAC) is the working title of content creation that is currently being accumulated into a publication. The work that makes up AHBAC is result of ongoing generative PRESSplay studio sessions that have grown into a playful and poetic sharing of discoveries using drawing, writing and ritual activities.
The work has created dialogue around common creative obstacles and their remedies through prompts and exercises with an invitation for readers to participate. The informal visual instruction book for any human who feels stuck is particularly exciting as it is a platform for inspiring female creatives.
PRESSplay’s endeavour is timely in their willingness to create dialogue about overcoming the inevitable stumbling blocks that we encounter as creatives in male dominated industries. With mentorship from award-winning author, Churchill Fellow and the founder of StoryProjects Johanna Bell and artist, award-winning publisher, creative consultant to storytellers Erica Wagner, PRESSplay will pitch AHBAC to publishers in 2022.
